Indoor/Outdoor Transition
House In Dartmouth Park
London, United Kingdom
The project involved the reorganization of the lower part of a large family house owned by film writers. A small extension was added and the lower floor was completely reconfigured into a series of programmatic bands, ranging from a polycarbonate side shed, and a strip of utilities, to the main open plan living areas. The garden was also restructured by the formation of an earth mound. The living areas look onto a large cedar of lebanon tree and the living room extends outwards as external decking. Windows are punched through the external walls to provide a study desk and a planting and worm box in the kitchen.
